Safety switch with guard locking CTA-BP
Your advantages
- Safety switch with guard locking and guard lock monitoring
- Safety category 4 and PL e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1
- Mounting compatible with existing safety switches
- Retrofittable escape release for more flexibility during conversions or retrofitting.
Function
The CTA safety switch combines the proven principle of operation of electromechanical safety switches with guard locking with modern transponder coded safety engineering. Thanks to transponder technology, even a single CTA achieves Category 4 / PL e in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 without additional fault exclusion and meets all the requirements of EN ISO 14119. It is ideal for applications where a high performance level and a high locking force are required.
Versatile in use
The CTA reliably secures safety doors and flaps on machines and systems. The CTA is suitable for even the harshest and dirtiest environments. Thanks to the integrated guard locking and guard lock monitoring, it can be used for both process and personal protection. The very slim design allows space-saving mounting on the safety guards. With a locking force of up to 8000 N, the CTA effectively prevents safety doors from being opened.
The very robust metal housing with metal head and the high degree of protection IP 65 / IP 67 / IP 69 / IP 69K make the CTA an all-rounder for almost any industrial use.
Mounting; assembly and function
The CTA consists of two components, a safety switch and a separate actuator. During mounting; assembly, the safety switch is attached to the fixed part and the actuator to the movable guards. The CTA can be approached from four directions. The head is equipped with an integrated funnel to facilitate insertion of the actuator. This is particularly advantageous for unstable door constructions and door readjustment. When the guard is closed, the actuator inserts into the head of the safety switch.
If the transponder chip built into the actuator is detected and the guard locking is actuated, the safety outputs are switched on. Thanks to the integrated prevention of inadvertent locking position (faulty closure protection), accidental activation of the safety outputs is prevented if the actuator is not fully inserted into the head.
