Safety engineered end-to-end
At SPS 2026 (November 24–26, Nuremberg), EUCHNER will showcase safety solutions for machines and systems that can be efficiently integrated and adapted to changing production requirements. Highlights at the booth (Hall 7, Booth 280) include the new EKS2 read unit, the CTS Gate System, and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
Visitors to the EUCHNER booth can see for themselves how functional safety and cybersecurity go hand in hand in mechanical engineering. The safety specialist will also demonstrate how machine manufactures and operators can flexibly implement and integrate these requirements.

With the introduction of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the European Union is increasing requirements for products with digital elements. At SPS, EUCHNER will provide visitors with information on the CRA status of its products and product families, as well as cybersecurity measures for machines and systems. “We took the right steps early on: Since the beginning of the year, our development process has been certified according to IEC 62443-4-1. This means EUCHNER is CRA-ready. At the same time, we have established a Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) and entered into a partnership with the VDE’s Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT@VDE). This reinforces our commitment to delivering consistently secure and robust products in accordance with the Cyber Resilience Act,” explains Bernd Hermann, Head of Development at EUCHNER.
With its Safety Services, the company supports machine manufacturers and operators worldwide with all issues related to machine safety, the new Machinery Directive, and the CRA. The services include threat and risk analyses, the identification of security vulnerabilities, and guidance in implementing security-by-design concepts. EUCHNER serves as a trusted partner for questions regarding compliance, vulnerability management, and security updates, thereby providing guidance and planning certainty.
Handle included, safety built in

A product highlight at the trade show booth is the CTS Gate System, which expands the compact CTS interlock with a handle module for hinged and sliding doors. Its space-saving design enables installation even on narrow safety guards with limited installation space. The optional escape release can be activated with a single motion on walk-through doors. This makes it even easier and more intuitive for employees to exit hazardous areas in an emergency. Machine builders do not need a separate door handle or an additional door stop for installation. The handle module can be retrofitted to existing CTS applications and is suitable for doors hinged on the left or right. Variants with an integrated lockout mechanism further expand the concept. The robust system, with a locking force of up to 5,000 Newton, meets safety requirements up to PL e and reliably protects people.
Maximum flexibility in access control

Also on display in Nuremberg is the new EKS2 read unit, with which EUCHNER is expanding the range of applications for the Electronic-Key-System EKS2 in combination with the existing evaluation unit. In addition to EKS2 keys and transponders, the system can now also read chip cards, know as smart cards. This gives users maximum flexibility in controlling and managing access permissions at the machine. The component can be easily integrated into existing structures, such as applications with existing plant or employee ID cards. The compact design also facilitates installation in small control panels and enclosures, even where space is limited. An LED system on the front and side panels provides simple monitoring by visually indicating the operating status.
One cable for signals and data

At SPS, EUCHNER will also demonstrate how safe machine communication can be simplified. The last 20 meters between the control system, sensors, and actuators still require a significant amount of wiring in many machines. Complexity increases further when numerous safety signals and diagnostic data must be transmitted. EUCHNER solves this problem with its IO-Link Safety solutions. Instead of multiple individual wires, data and signals are transmitted over a single cable. By combining robust safety components with IO-Link Safety, EUCHNER enables end-to-end safe communication – all the way from the control system to the sensor. The standardized interface simplifies connection and reduces planning and installation effort. In addition, comprehensive diagnostic functions lower maintenance requirements and thereby increase system availability.
Scalable safety door system with EtherNet/IP

With the MGB2 Modular, operators can flexibly adapt their machine safety to new requirements. The fully modular safety door system scales with changing machine and plant designs, line modifications, and retrofit projects; operation and signaling are combined in a single device. This reduces the number of components and the effort required for integration. Thanks to support for PROFINET, EtherCAT(P), and EtherNet/IP, the MGB2 Modular can be integrated into common control systems. An integrated Ethernet switch also reduces wiring effort and simplifies the network topology. The system remains reliable even under demanding conditions: It is designed for temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees Celsius, achieves IP65 protection, and meets safety levels up to PL e / SIL 3.
